My creative journey, particularly in illustration, has been deeply influenced by the work of great Sardinian artists such as Antonio Marras, Edina Altara, the Coroneo sisters, and Eugenio Tavolara. From them, I inherited a love for a land rich in symbols, memory, and poetry—a heritage that continues to shape my artistic vision.
I am drawn to portraying women who are both proud and deeply authentic, women who embody strength and gentleness at once. It is from this vision that My Sad Little Women (Le Mie Donnine Tristi) were born.
Their melancholy is not a sign of weakness, but of awareness. Their eyes, often closed, are not turned away from the world; they are turned inward. I believe that those who are truly confident in who they are are never afraid to reveal their vulnerability. And those who know their own path understand that getting lost or falling is simply part of the journey—because every fall brings us closer to finding our way back to ourselves.
